罗林是电影特效专家，专门为一些B 级影片做特效。一日FBI找上门来，请他安排一位黑道份子的死亡假象，以便他能加入证人保护计划。罗林在完成使命后却发现事情变得诡谲。因为纽约警探开始调查起这件假死亡案，而FBI不仅不出面，而且一副事不关己模样，惹祸上身的罗林得尽早查出真相，否则他将成为黑白两道的追击对象。。If not for C.C. walking in on them, Maxwell and Fran would have done it in the hospital bed next to Niles.
