废柴少年苏九被天降神石“星源”砸中，从一个没有任何修炼资质的普通学生，成为新一任星源之主。万界的两大超级美女幽亦寒和沈梦雪，也为追寻“星源”而来，二人以躲避仇家的名义强势借住，并为了招揽苏九进入自家宗门，暂时达成协议，共同教导苏九修炼。谁知，拥有“星源”的苏九修为进步飞快，远超出二女想象。。此為TV版動畫第三部，從1997年4月4日至1997年9月26日放映，全26話。 此作完全脫離原作，為動畫原創故事，原創的角色也很多。由於是動畫原創，部分設定和原作設定相矛盾，並且原本的主角：莉娜等人的存在變成了半個旁觀者。故事走向太過於沉重路線，和原作原本的作風相距甚遠，所以沒有受到與前二作相等的評價。。Two paranormal investigators are unexpectedly thrown together in the hope of solving a 100 year mystery.
